The Apprentice star Sebastian Stan suggests the upcoming movie about Donald Trump should prompt moments of self-reflection for fans.
Death by Lightning is directed by Matt Ross, and is based on the book, Destiny of the Republic, by Candice Millard. The series is described as a "stranger-than-fiction true story" about President James Garfield and "his greatest admirer" Charles Guiteau, the man responsible for the assassination of the 20th President of the United States. Mike Makowsky created and wrote the series and executive produces alongside Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as well as Ross and Bernie Caulfield. The series has no official release date.
Benioff and Weiss Are Fresh Off Another Emmy-Nominated Show
After an incredible run with Game of Thrones, Benioff and Weiss show no signs of slowing down. The duo are fresh off the Netflix series, 3 Body Problem, which nabbed a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series at this year's Emmys. The series is based on the epic sci-fi series of novels by author Liu Cixin, often referred to as Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy, comprised of the novels Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death's End. The Netflix series will continue for two more seasons, though the second season has yet to receive an official release date.

3 Body Problem creators share what scenes were cut from the show's first season, and one of them included a Doctor Who cameo.
Considering the immense scope of the novels, particularly The Dark Forest and Death's End, the series could potentially have a longer production time compared to other television shows. Reportedly, each episode of the first season cost a whopping $20 million, meaning Netflix spent $160 million on the first season alone. As fans of the novels surely know, the budgets for the subsequent seasons could get even higher, depending on what the creatives choose to adapt.
Future seasons may divert in some ways from the novels, as the first season blended many characters and storylines from the second and third books into the general storyline for the first season, but the overall story is generally in step with the novels, with some slight changes. However, with Benioff and Weiss executive producing a new series for Netflix, the release date for the second season could push back as far as 2026, as production on the second season has yet to begin.
3 Body Problem is now streaming on Netflix.
